1 – Syringe Barrel

The syringe barrel is made from a specially formulated proprietary polypropylene resin. The 3 ml and 5 ml syringe sizes have the exact same barrel diameter as the 10 ml syringes. This ensures that you maintain low pressure during the flushing process, and therefore reduces the risk of damaging the vein and/or catheter due to excess pressure.

All Ribbel flush Syringes, filled with Saline Solution, are equipped with the innovative Luer-Lock tip, which ensures a safe, secure connection to the catheter.

2 – Plunger Stopper

To help prevent rubber-related reactions and events, the syringe stopper is made from a unique latex-free bromobutyl formulation.

3 – Silicone Lubricant

Medical-grade silicone oil is applied to the stopper and to the inside wall of the syringe barrel, which facilitates consistently smooth stopper actions and predictable flush installations.

4 – Tip Cap

A plastic syringe tip cap encloses the syringe tip, and closure integrity is improved with the Luer-Lock connection to the barrel tip. Made from the same polypropylene material as the syringe barrel, the tip cap’s size and shape allow easy handling and helps ensure there is no touch-contamination of the syringe luer connection.

5 – Plunger Rod

The length of the plunger rod is modified from that of a standard syringe to avoid compression of the stopper after the fluid is expelled. This enables a positive pressure to be maintained within the catheter and therefore minimize reflux during disconnection, since there is no final compression of the plunger.

A backstop feature is integrated into the design of the plunger rod and syringe barrel, preventing the plunger from being accidentally pulled out of the barrel if aspiration is performed.
